It is amazing to think that 5 years ago today we opened our first women’s house. Looking back now we can point to 19 women housed over that time with over 5,000 nights of accommodation provided.
Whilst homelessness is always a terrible thing it is somehow even more shocking when it involves females and so it has been our immense privilege to be there for the women that really needed the housing and support. Three of those women went on to get married and others have made massive progress and have left Lifeline for fully independent accommodation.
We might even have plans for another women’s house so watch this space!
