We are specifically looking for finance and HR experience, but any who share our values and mission would be welcome to apply. Trustees may come from a business, educational, charity or other background. The trustee board meets every 2 months, including an AGM.
Meetings take place locally in Harrogate (usually on a Monday night) but could be attended remotely if necessary. The need to attend other meetings and events will depend on the specific role of each trustee and the particular projects/initiatives underway at any time.
Much of the work of the trustees can take place by phone, email or Zoom call, which enables decisions to be made quickly when necessary and avoids the number of meetings becoming burdensome. The following requirements are essential for anyone taking on the role of a Lifeline Trustee: · Commitment to the Charity and passion for the Lifeline vision · Willingness to devote the necessary time and effort to support and progress needs of the Charity as a whole · Strategic vision · Good, independent judgement · Ability to think creatively · Willingness to speak their mind · Understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of a Board member of a Charity which is also a company limited by guarantee · Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
Under the 2010 Equality Act, schedule 9, there is a genuine occupational requirement for a Lifeline Trustee to be a practising Christian.
We have a Trustee application form which can be found by clicking here: Trustee Opportunity | Christian Jobs
